Dr. Vijayan has been working as a Urologist from 1990 , first in England
and then in Kerala State, India from 1994. He had his higher
Urology training from England, where he spent nearly 5 years in training. He qualified
from the London Institute of Urology in 1991. He was introduced to Laparoscopic (key hole) surgery
in Urology at Kings College, London in 1993.
He later underwent advanced Laparoscopic training as a Fellow in Chi Mei
Med. Centre, Taiwan in 2001.
His special area of interest is Laparoscopy
& reconstructive Urology and
has been doing laparoscopic Urology procedures from 1994. He
has many firsts in his name including
the first to perform
laparoscopic Orchidopexy, Nephrectomy,
Radical Nephrectomy, Radical Nephroureterectomy etc. in this state.
In 2002 he organized the first laparoscopic workshop for Urologists in the State
of Kerala.
He has been invited to talk in the
National Forum on Hypospadias Surgery for the last 2 years.
