Ports

3 ports are used for both unilateral as well as bilateral testicular vein ligation. One 10mm port at the umbilicus is for the telescope and two 5 mm ports are for each iliac fossa.

Steps

1     The peritoneum over the testicular vessels is incised in 'T' shape, with the top limb of the 'T' being placed lateral and parallel to the vessels. The incision is made proximal to the point were the vas leaves the testicular vessels and moves medially towards the bladder.

2. The testicular artery is dissected free by dissecting the testicular vein .

                            3. The testicular veins are clipped and divided.

4. Final Appearance.
